DUAL Enrollment for Teens

For years AFE has partnered with EVIT (East Valley Institute of Technology) and ALL of our students who have used this combo of AFE and EVIT have success stories!

The East Valley Institute of Technology is one of the best resources Arizona’s students have to guarantee themselves a successful launch into the market place. Upheld as a model for career and technical education by the U.S. Department of Education, EVIT provides students with the advanced skills and training needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market.

EVIT adds to a student’s academic instruction with hands-on learning provided by experienced professionals and excellent resources. By allowing students to earn elective credit in 35 occupation-specific programs, EVIT enhances the future of every type of student.

EVIT is a public school district that serves students from ten East Valley school districts. High school students from Apache Junction, Chandler, Fountain Hills, Gilbert, Mesa, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, Tempe, Higley and J.O. Students spend half their day at EVIT and the other half at their sending high school.

Because EVIT is a public school, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students from the sending districts that meet class prerequisites can attend tuition-free!

The AFE advantage: Student of these two programs get the unique opportunity to accelerate their personal develop with quality mentoring and carpool to/from the EVIT campus while also having opportunities for leadership within their school and local communities. More about the Scholar developmental level (click here).

Most programs at EVIT run 8:00am – 10:35am or 12:00pm – 2:35pm. Depending on enrollment we can do a mid day (11:30pm – 2:00pm) and/or a morning (9am – 11:30am) session of Scholars @ AFE. We recommend the students carpool between campuses. This would work for either the Power campus or Main campus. The most efficient schedule (if your desired program is available) is AM EVIT followed by Scholars @ AFE, then any electives in the early afternoon.

With Arizona scholarships (STO & ESA) students can now have access to a holistic eduction, including career development AND have time and funding for electives, rest and a social life!
