ART:

Stagecraft:

  • Description: Discover the technical side of theatre! Build sets, create props, design costumes, and participate in a stage crew for live performances at the end of the semester.

  • Description: Help your child develop a love of good music! Students will dance, sing, and listen to a wide variety of music. They will begin learning about composers, instruments, and music theory.

  • Description: Help your child cultivate a love of good music! Students will dance, sing, and listen to a wide variety of music. They will learn about composers and their inspiration, instruments and how sound travels, and foundational music theory.

Ukulele For Beginners:

  • Description: Learn to play ukulele! Over the course of two semesters, you will learn chords, how to read music, and proper playing posture. Come play with us!

ACTING:

Playwriting/Acting:

  • Description: Students will learn how to write, direct, and act in their own plays in this semester-long intensive. The first three months, they will spend learning the craft of playwriting, while the second two months, they will act in and help direct their own plays.

Outdoor Physical Education:

  • Description: September-October participate in swimming exercises, water games, and stroke improvement. October-December participate in various physical outdoor exercises and games.

Yoga:

  • Description: We will work on physical yoga postures to stretch and strengthen our muscles. We will also learn how to use our breath to reduce stress and stay healthy. Class will include short meditations for self-esteem and stress relief.

  • Description: During the class, students will develop a practice of daily writing and creativity. They will learn the technical details of creative writing in novel writing, short stories, poetry, creative nonfiction, and more. They will discuss their writing and get feedback.

Biblical Hebrew:

  • Description: Learn to read the Bible in Hebrew. Learn the Alphabet, Hebrew grammar and study the book of Genesis.

  • Description: Learn to safely catch, lead, groom, saddle, and ride horses.

 

Etiquette, Tea, and Poetry:

  • Description: Learn proper etiquette, how to use herbal teas, and memorize some fun poetry.

Intro Into Ballroom Dance:

  • Description: An hour-long class, focused on partner-based dances. The dances will be split into three week increments and will include Ballroom Dances (Waltz, Night-club two-step, and tango), Swing Dances (East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, and Hussle), and Latin Dances (Salsa, Merengue, and Cha-Cha). The curriculum will be based on learning how the dance is lead and followed, not choreography.

 

Mommy & Me:

  • Description: Kathryn is an experienced mother and mentor for families. Raising her 5 children and building the AFE community has given her so many wonderful reasons to study and improve her skills. The foundation for this discussion group will come from Scriptures, the book: Hold onto Your Kids by Gordon Neufeld, Ph.D. and the Conscious Discipline program by Becky Bailey.
